15U & 16U National Defenders ramp up for two huge tournaments !! Our AAU 15U-Girls team, coached by Pat Kanalley, travels to Pennsylvania State University this week (July 5-8) to compete in the Penn State Blue Chip Invitational . Last year 320 teams and 226 colleges represented by over 500 college coaches attended. This is hailed as one of the largest AAU venues in the country. The 16U National team, coached by John Reinholz, prepares this week for travel to Orlando (July10-15), where they will face fierce competition in the AAU 16U/Jr. DII Junior National Tournament, held at the ESPN Sports Complex. There will be 56 teams from 17 AAU districts. The Buffalo Defenders AAU girls basketball organization is proud to be represented nationally by these two teams. The hard work and dedication of the players and coaches has allowed the Defender organization to compete at a very high level, giving the girls exposure to the best in AAU basketball. They have demonstrated impressive spirit, character, athleticism, and class throughout the season. The Buffalo Defenders organization wishes both teams the best of luck over the next two weeks !!
